Better than photos! Quiet, relaxing, off season Thanksgiving week. Back deck was perfect for beach and dog watching, starry skies and sunrises. Front porch showcased sunsets. Inside cottage is small but very well designed, lots of storage. It was beautifully decorated and fully outfitted with everything you’d need. Steps from wide beach. Perfect for long walks. Definitely go to Bert’s, funky shop with a bit of everything. We got breakfast there everyday. We met Sam who was very friendly and responsive. We’ll definitely go back! Thanks Sam!

Location, location, location! If not the best, then one of the best spots in Folly Beach. Only steps away via a private beach path to a broad flat stretch of sand beach where we watched the surfers each morning from our deck while sipping coffee, and only a quick 5-10 minute (4 block) walk to downtown where the bars, restaurants and shops are located. This beach bungalow has been recently updated, and has all the amenities expected in a high end beach rental. We especially enjoyed the French press coffee maker and the rainfall shower! However while my wife and I rated our stay as 5-star, it may not be the right place for everyone. This is a very "cozy" place. It has two small bedrooms mostly filled up with beds and one small bathroom. There are a couple of hanging clothes cabinet/nightstand combination units in the master bedroom. Also comfy places to sit in the kitchen/great room.

Clean Beach Cottage that is walking distance to the main strip. The views are great and it’s only a short drive to Charleston. The deck is also a nice place to hang out and relax. Nice value for having your own place directly on the beach

I can't say enough positive things both about about our host (Sam) and the home we stayed in. You are literally on the beach. The ocean view is amazing. You are right down the street from fantastic restaurants, bars and my new favorite grocery store, Bert's Market, that has everything you need and more. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! 5/5

We had a wonderful stay and rode out Hurricane Helene wrath from so many miles away. Sam was very communicative with all his renters . Home was absolutely spectacular on the ocean front and beautiful sunrises . We never left Folly Beach and walked everywhere as soon as we near to fabulous dining . Sam's beach house is literally on the water - it's a beautiful and unbeatable location. We spent all our time outside and our son was able to wander up and down the beach while we could see him from the deck. It's also a quick walk into town and has plenty of thoughtful amenities. We loved every minute and will be back!

Our stay at the beach house in Folly Beach was exceptional. The house was clean, beautifully decorated, and had everything we needed. The location, just steps from the beach, offered stunning ocean views and walkable to the downtown area. The host was responsive and provided great local recommendations. We rented a week when beach renourishment was in full swing, and the construction equipment was parked in front of house. All of which happened beyond Sam’s control. Sam bent over backwards to accommodate us and make sure we were happy from finding us another rental, providing a golf cart and being in prompt communication. The best host I’ve encountered! Without the challenges (not caused by Sam) the property would have been perfection. Highly recommend property and management behind it!

We were so fortunate to find this absolute gem! We put together a last minute empty nester trip and our stay here was everything we needed to regroup after our daughter’s wedding and just soothe our sad hearts a little bit. There wasn’t one single thing that wasn’t perfect. Even though we’d both seen pictures, when we walked in the front door we both did a little gasp. The. VIEW. I’m forever ruined for staying anywhere else. You will have everything you need for your stay, you are steps to the beach and you will want to spend every second on the deck taking in the view…when you’re not on the beach of course. Sam has everything covered. Easy check in, sending the forecast before you arrive, beach chairs, towels, comfortable beds, a fully stocked kitchen. It’s a quick walk to amazing restaurants and shops. It was honestly hard to leave and go do other things. We wanted to spend every second enjoying this beautiful and peaceful place. I already can’t wait to go back. Thank you!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Surf Shack. Sam proactively made sure all check in instructions were clear the week and day of our arrival. When you walk into the home - you’re greeted by a stunning view of the beach and ocean. The home is so thoughtfully designed to be comfortable and serene. It is a truly beautiful cottage. We spent our trip on the porch or on the beach directly in front of us. In the evenings we walked to the pier or the many fun restaurants Folly has to offer a few blocks away. The home had everything we needed from beach towels, chairs, and toys to a kitchen filled with all the necessities. We had the opportunity to meet Sam on the beach and he couldn’t have been kinder or more helpful. We have an annual stay-cation at Folly Beach and this is by far the nicest home we’ve visited on Folly. I would highly recommend it to anyone! It was the perfect stay for my husband, two young kids and I.

Had a wonderful time at the Surf Shack! Often I am a little disappointed at airbnb's as they don't always live up to the pictures but, this one was even better in person! Such a charming little cottage right on the beach and the owner has thought of everything. Very clean, comfortable and just incredible views from inside and out (we really enjoyed sitting on the deck enjoying the breezes and stargazing at night). Sam was AWESOME to work with - a great host - super helpful and friendly. We look forward to returning!

This house, steps from the beach, is an absolute gem. Stunning views, beautiful clean beach, walkable restaurants, shops and market. My kids had the best days, doing morning walks, finding hermit crabs and seashells and the best nights sleep on the top bunk in the bunk room . Sam is very responsive and attentive. Zero complaints. I hope we get to come back sooner rather than later.

The Surf Shack is wonderful. Although small, the thoughtful design made it feel spacious. It’s design is sophisticated simplicity and the use of space was amazing. We truly appreciated the the peaceful design. Most importantly, the location is perfect and is walkable to anything you need, yet, far enough away to seem quiet. Surf Shack was clean and well equipped. Sam is truly professional in his communication and made the process seamless.

We had a great stay in Folly Beach. Surf shack is just a few steps from the beach, which makes it easy to come and go whenever you want. Proximity to local restaurants and bars is great, just a short walk down the main street. The house is very clean, tons of linens and towels for both the house and the beach. Also has off-street parking for at least two cars, makes it very easy where parking can be difficult in other parts of the beach. Enjoyed having coffee and watching the dolphins in the morning, and were lucky to catch a great meteor shower the night we were there. Would definitely return!

This is the best little beach house! Had everything we could need! A big outside porch! So awesome!!! Had a little sand area before the dune which was perfect for beach games or soccer. This house was perfect for our family. The small Sandy area before the big beach was perfect for the kids to play without it being too windy (it was windy during our stay). Perfect location! I do not have enough words for how helpful and kind Sam was. We were supposed to stay from Sept 29- Oct 2, because of Hurricane Ian we had to drive and missed our first night. Sam kept us updated on the hurricane and offered to cancel our booking for us. He messaged us throughout our drive and kept us apprised of the situation on Folly Beach. Make sure to read the excellent write-up on the house! It does a fantastic job of telling you why this place is so great. As accurate as the description is, it truly doesn’t do it justice! Words don’t convey the ambiance created by the stunning view and relaxing vibe you’ll be enveloped by as you listen to the crashing waves as you have your coffee, sip your cocktail or drift off to sleep. This place really has it all. Location to the beach and town. Super responsive owner who’s a great guy. Beautifully decorated with everything you need. Worth every penny. My girlfriend and I both thought it was the most relaxing vacation we’ve ever had!!!

Even though the house itself is on small size… it didn’t feel cramped due to the open concept, awesome deck and easy access to the beach. The house itself was extremely clean and felt new. We loved walking into town everyday for breakfast and coffee and you obviously can’t beat the views and beach access. Sam, who lives a few houses down, was extremely responsive, helpful and detail oriented… he even came over each morning to make sure we had a safe path down to the beach (we had some unusually high tides during our visit). We felt extremely comfortable traveling with our 9 month old for the first time due to the house and location. We are so thankful for such a great experience!

This house is amazing! Right on the beach with private beach access as well as its own sandy yard to layout and listen to the waves. Restaurants and a market in walking distance. The interior looks brand new with beachy decor and gorgeous features. All the details from the rain shower to the Keurig to the beach towels and beach chairs made our stay feel luxurious. Communication and check in were super easy. We will be back :)

From the beginning Sam was great to work with and made us feel very welcome. We arrived late and he had the lights on and the door was open so we had zero issues getting in with our kids….much appreciated. The location is perfect. Close enough to walk to downtown. The house itself was a great fit for us. Amazing views and if you don’t want to go to the beach you have your own sandy beach to use and still capture the views. House was obviously recently updated and beds were comfortable. Kitchen had everything you wanted. I also appreciate the fact that if there is leftover food when you check out they donate it. That tells you a lot about the owner and his thoughtfulness. Overall, we will come back and work around dates if need be to rent with Sam again.

I booked the Surf Shack for a quick 2-night getaway. Location is wonderful; we easily walked to restaurants and bars (plus a late night stroll to Bert's!), and the sound of the ocean right outside the door is unbeatable. The open floor plan really maximizes the communal space. We will definitely revisit in the future!

Perfect house in the perfect location for a beach get-away. I was in need of a quiet, rejuvenating weekend and it was exactly what I had hoped for! I enjoyed my coffee while looking out at the beautiful sea oats and ocean. I practiced yoga on the deck. Read a book start to finish on the couch curled up with one of many cozy blanket at the house. I even binge watched some Netflix on the huge TV. I was steps away from the beach so I took multiple walks each day. Going left when I wanted quiet and going right when I was ready to see some people or grab something to eat. And there is a windsock at the beach access so I easily found the house no matter how far I walked and how little attention I paid. Sam left a helpful information sheet about things to do and places to go on the island and a sheet with the tide times (which is quite important to know on Folly). The house was nicely decorated and very clean with tons of natural light and beautiful views of the ocean. Sam was quick to respond to questions. After I asked about EV charging, Sam sent me a list of charging stations in close by as there are none on Folly (not that I would mind getting stuck there!). Checking in and out of the house was a piece of cake, even though it was hard to make myself leave. This trip was all about resting and renewing for me after a very hard few months. But, I want to come back and bring my family with me. I know my husband and kids will love the house as well!

This is place is magical! The property truly shows the beauty that are Carolina Beaches! You can sit on that back porch overlooking the ocean for hours! The house is absolutely breathtaking! Very light, spacious, clean, and THE WINDOWS. You have the best views of the ocean. Me and my friends were talking about how perfect it would be for couples looking for a getaway! Sam is also the best host you could ever ask for! He is easy to reach, very friendly and genuinely wants you to experience the best Folly has to offer. He took the time to write out all of the best places to check out on the island, even took the time to write out high and low tide times for us to maximize our beach time!
